What personal information does ReviseOnline collect, and how is it used and protected?

Modified on Thu, 27 Aug at 9:51 AM

ReviseOnline collects the personal information reasonably needed to run the platform, and handles it in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This article summarises what that means for you - for the full legal text, see our Privacy Policy.

What we collect

Account details (name, email, school, role, year level), your learning and study activity (subjects, sessions, answers, assessment activity, scores and progress), payment and billing information needed to process a purchase, technical and security information such as IP address and device details, and anything you share with us directly, such as a support request. We don't intentionally collect biometric or health information, or other sensitive information, from students as part of normal use.

Why we use it

To provide, secure and improve the platform, manage accounts and school relationships, deliver assessments and progress reporting, process purchases and refunds, and respond to support and safety requests. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use student personal information for third-party advertising.

Automated features and AI

Some features may use automated systems or AI to support marking, feedback or analytics. These are designed to assist learning and professional judgement - automated outputs don't decide your legal rights or entitlements, and human oversight applies where it matters.

Where your information is stored

We aim to keep primary application data in Australia. Some service providers we rely on may process limited information overseas; where that happens, we take the steps required under Australian privacy law to protect it.

Accessing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask us to provide the personal information we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, or ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep. We may need to verify your identity first, and some information may need to be retained where the law requires it. Where an export tool is available in the platform, you can also use that to get a copy of your account information directly.

Privacy complaints

If something doesn't seem right, contact us first so we can investigate. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can raise it with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

For privacy requests, email support@reviseonline.com. Read the full Privacy Policy for complete details.
