What tools are available to me while I'm taking an assessment?

While you're taking an assessment, a toolbar above each question gives you a few tools to help you work through it.

Ask your teacher

If you're stuck, use Ask your teacher to send a question straight to your teacher. Choose the type of help you need - for example, you don't understand what's being asked, you're unsure about the topic, the wording is confusing, or you don't know how to approach the problem - and your teacher receives your question as a direct message in Community.

Flag to revisit

Use the flag icon to mark a question so you can come back to it later - this is just for you, and your teacher isn't notified. You can add a private note to remind yourself what to check when you return, such as "come back and check the second part."

Mark complete

Use the tick icon to mark a question as complete once you're happy with your answer. This tells ReviseOnline the question is ready to be counted in your performance analytics for that assessment.

Add to Assessment

If you come across a question you'd like to reuse, you can add it straight to one of your own assessments from the More options menu, without having to search for it again in the item bank. You can only add questions to assessments you've created yourself - not ones created by Revise or your teacher.

Report a question

If something looks wrong with a question, you can report it from the same More options menu - see our separate article on reporting an error in a question for what happens next.

Theatre mode and full screen

Theatre mode expands the assessment to full width, similar to theatre mode on YouTube, giving you more room to work. Full screen goes a step further, hiding the browser and sidebar entirely for an even more focused view. We recommend using theatre mode for any non-multiple-choice question, since the extra width makes longer written answers easier to work with.
